M:Yeah.Always check care labels,right?
W:That's right!Use cold water for colored clothes and hot water for white clothes. As for delicate fabrics, use
the gentle cyele. And don't forget to empty out the pockets.
M:Got it,laundry expert!

W:Calvin, have you met the newcomer?Do you know if he's a salesman or an accountant?
M:I have no idea.Let's ask Sarah. She does the hiring and firing in our company. She should know who he is.

M:Thanks.Hey,what's wrong with your screen? It's all dark and the colors look strange.
W:Oh!I've been using an app called"Sunset"to help me sleep at night.
M:Real山y2How2
W:Well, studies show that too much blue light from screens can make sleeping difficult. So,in the evenings,
the app puts a red filter(滤光器)over the screen to cancel it out.
M:Oh,interesting.Does it help?
W:Yeah,I think so!I also listen to white noise, which helps me fall asleep too.
Text 7

M:Why not?
W:It's a part of the company's plans to save energy.
M:Well,I can understand that. But how are we supposed to work in these conditions?
W:I guess we always have the choice to work from home.
M:True. But before my youngest daughter starts school,it's just too difficult for me to do that.I wouldn't be
able to focus.
W:Then I think we should talk to the boss about what can be done, otherwise people will start getting ill.
Text 8
W:Well, here we are!I can't wait to get inside and see what's on offer!
M:I heard this year's Mini Fair is going to be even bigger and better than last year's.It won't disappoint us.
W:Oh really?I had to go to a boring work event at that time,so I couldn't come last year.
M:Yes!I got so many things for my model train set.
W:Like what?
M:WelL,the coolest things I got were some tiny little trees. They looked so real.
W:Wow!
M:I'm hoping the guy who sells them is here again this year.
W:I hope so!Now that I'm satisfied with the inside part of my dolls'house,I want to focus on creating the
garden. So,it would be great to get some little plants and trees. What about you?
M:I want some little model cars and people to add to my train station scene. But I need to find a toilet first.
W:Over there,by the restaurant hall.
M:Great.Meet you in five minutes,by the ticket desk.

M:No,those trees are too small. We built it in five days.It looks really good.
W:Can I see it?
M:Sorry,Mom.No girls allowed.
W:OK,then,Justin.But where are your boots?
M:I think I left them in the treehouse. Can I get them tomorrow?
W:It's going to rain tonight.Just how great is the roof on this trechouse?
M:Um,we didn't finish the roof yet.Do you think you could go get the boots out of there for me?I left my
bike at Stanley's house.
W:Sorry.Justin.I hear there are no girls allowed in this treehouse. But I'll be happy to drive you down the
street and you can get them.
M:Oh,thanks,Mom.I can't wait to walk in the rain in my boots!
W:I knew you'd like them.
M:Yeah,Mom.Are you ready to go now?I think I heard some thunder.
Text 10
M:Earthquakes are among the most harmful natural disasters.Earthquakes cannot be predicted, but your
chances of survival are much better if you prepare in advance and you know what to do when an earthquake strikes.
Firstly.you need to get something ready. In the event of an emergency, many services like electricity and water may
become unavailable. To ensure your survival, besides food and water, you will need the following emergency
supplies:flashlights, blankets, money and so on.Secondly, you should know what to do.When an earthquake
happens, drop to the ground, find cover and hold on.If you're indoors, stay there and find shelter under a strong
table. You should also stay clear of windows and outer walls.Don't use lifts as there's a risk you'll become trapped.
If you're in a crowded area.don't rush towards the doors as there's a risk of injury. If you're outside,be aware of
falling pieces and stay clear of buildings, overhead structures, walls, power lines and trees. If you're in a car, stop
in an open area until the shaking stops.Check your ABC Radio station,or the ABC Emergency Twitter pages for
wamings before moving.Be aware of damaged roads and bridges.
